I like his dark sense of humor… Who? Jiri Geller. Do not touch the art work!
Now to the kiln!
Ahhh I wanted to take pics of every step because I believe in sharing since most things I know I’ve learned on my own, thru books, helping people, the web, and by doing which truly is the key. Anyways I got so into this character here that I forgot. But basically a few slabs which then I padded. The hair is built solid and then hollowed. And this is porcelain. I’m working on the hat and the base… It’s part of a series of monsters/characters.
Mrs. Kathie Olivas. I fucking love designer toys. Plastic is such a wonderful material which I refuse to use because it is sooooooo BAD, what a shame! The pic was taken by P!NG.
Good morning world wide web! I would love to dedicate the top part of this fabulous piece by John Byrd to quite a few people. Starting with all those teachers who laughed and didn’t take me seriously when my answer to what do you wanna do upon graduation? Was to travel the world, but doing what? I don’t care… None of you took me seriously, well it’s been 11 years and the only continent I haven’t set foot on is Antartica, so dear teachers I did it, blow me and have a great day!
This guy is truly something… I wonder if he realizes that. I hope not, I hope he is insecure about what he makes so he keeps pushing himself further and further since conformity my friends is the worst sin, and so many so called artists are sinners!!!! hah this is John Byrd and WOW!
